Cable Technician

For over 25 years Instatel Communications has been selling and supporting telecommunication and network equipment to businesses across Canada. We offer an exciting work environment that presents new challenges and opportunities on a daily basis.

We require 2 technicians, preferably with 1+ years’ experience installing structured voice and data cabling in a business environment. Duties will include running cable, terminating jacks and patch panels, repairing cable faults and tracing/locating wires.

You must be able to work on ladders and in small spaces if necessary.

TCP/IP skills; including configuration of public and private IP addressing, subnetting, basic routing, and network troubleshooting would be a great asset.

That person will be highly motivated, able to work independently, and demonstrate a keen interest in voice and data communications, as well as show that they are willing to take on the responsibilities and commitment of training for a very rewarding career.

The successful applicant will be able to multitask and prioritize to ensure the successful and timely completion of daily work. This person will also possess excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Good communication and people skills are an absolute must. You will be required to explain your work to the customer in non-technical terms and provide End User training.

Requires a Class G License and have a clean driving record. Must be able to provide an abstract on request.

This is a full time position, 8:30AM to 5:00PM, Monday to Friday. Occasional overtime and weekend work may be required. Hourly wage negotiable based on experience. Benefits available after 6 months. Only applicants willing to report to our Burlington office need apply.
